The joyful mission of Redeemer’s Choirs is to lead the congregation in worship through hymns and liturgy, and to proclaim the Gospel through psalms, anthems and spiritual songs which underscore God’s Word as it is read and preached.

Drawing on the rich Lutheran musical heritage and a wide variety of other musical traditions, Redeemer’s choirs reflect a diverse and growing congregation.

Redeemer’s choir welcome new members throughout the year. Each year offers a variety of musical services and concerts in addition to regular weekly worship. Participation in Redeemer’s choirs does not require membership in the church.

To participate in any of our adult choirs, email David Hansen at dhansen@redeemer.org

The Redeemer Choir – Our primary adult choir

Members are adults (high school or older) who love music, have pleasant voices, and are willing and able to learn and work as part of a team.

Participation includes Sunday services at 8:15 and 11:00 a.m. We usually do the same music in both services. While a few singers sing both services, most do one or the other; on festival Sundays, we ask everyone to sing both services, as they are able.

Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7:30-9:00 p.m. and  Sundays, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Each rehearsal has people from both the 8:15 and 11:00 a.m. services; they choose the one that is most convenient for them. The Sunday morning rehearsal provides a good option for people who travel during the week, or who have children in Sunday School. Wednesday night is a little more thorough rehearsal because of the extra half-hour.

The King’s Men – Our men’s choir

Members are men of all ages.

Music is varied: from classical to gospel, easy to challenging.

Participation includes Sunday services several times a year and occasional special events in the church and the community.

Rehearsals are 9:30 AM on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.

Canticum Novum – Our vocal ensemble

Members are adults who have auditioned for the ensemble.

Participation includes occasional concerts and special services, as well as Sunday services occasionally during the year.

Rehearsals are on alternate Tuesdays, 7-9 PM

Carillon Ringers – Our adult handbell choir

Members are adults, high school age or older.

Participation includes Sunday services at several times during the year, events in the community and an annual handbell festival.

Rehearsals are Mondays, 7:00-8:30 PM

Brass Ensemble – Instrumentalists

Members are middle school age or older.

Participation includes Sunday 8:15 and 11 AM worship services at several times during the year.

Rehearsals are Sundays, 11:00-12:00 PM

Instrumentalists are also needed for special occasions in anthem accompaniments, as prelude soloists or in small ensembles. Players of all instruments—keyboards, woodwind, brass, strings and percussion—are encouraged to introduce themselves to the music staff.
